"The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command." George Orwell, 1984
Governments have been conducting psyops on its citizens for at least 100 years, Canada is no exception. What I find fascinating is how well it works on some, but not on others. Such as the C19 psyop, even when presented with solid facts and evidence, the brainwashing could not be broken.
Also, do not confuse nations with nation states. These things need to be separated.
Nation: “a type of social organization where a national identity has emerged from a combination of shared features across a given population, such as language, history, ethnicity, culture, territory, or society.”
Nation state: “A centralized, political organization with dominion over a defined territory, a government, and a permanent population.”
To confuse the two is to erase any difference between the ruled and the rulers.
I’d apply Orwell’s distinction between patriotism and nationalism here. Patriotism is affection towards one’s way of life, culture, and history. I think not being patriotic is to spit in the face of all those who came before and made genuine sacrifices for the things we now take for granted. It is to honour those who came before you.
Nationalism, by contrast, is a superiority complex and ideology, which devolves into a power struggle.
These two things often are the same in people’s minds, however, they’re very different. Patriotism is defensive—a shield. In other words, respect/gratitude/love. Nationalism is offensive—a sword. In other words, ego/pride/hubris.
Patriots defend their homeland because it’s theirs, not because they believe it is the pinnacle of humanity. Nationalists believe their group must triumph over all others.
If we can’t recognize this distinction and foster true patriotism, this country will devolve into tribal warfare and sheer chaos.

Toronto is no longer a Canadian city.

I guess he didn't like your reply since he deleted his comments. Too bad. The guy looked like the personification of a soy latte.
I don't care what you think.
Well lock down the population in their own homes and hammer the same message everyday on the six O'c;lock news and you have mass formation.
