Did anybody happen to catch Global News BC at 6pm on Dec.3rd? Short clip by a whistle-blower on the fraud occurring within the Ministry of Social Development & Poverty Refuction. A bit off topic but relatable, I bring it up because I have a source in the Ministry that has been telling me about the fraud for years,when I post about it never seems to gain any interest (well I was called a liar once) yet millions of $ are fraudulently issued with no oversight whatsoever. No verification of any kind, the system is overwhelmed (Cloward-Piven Strategy). Maybe now that it's hit MSM the issue might garner some attention.
Just want to point out something regarding your statement: "The government throttled the temporary foreign worker system, leaving agriculture short-staffed and driving production costs up".
The number of foreign workers in primary agriculture increased sharply from 2017 to 2023, followed by a very slight decrease in the last two years. Generally, the primary agriculture industry is treated as a priority by the Temporary Foreign Worker Program. Even if there are cuts in access to foreign labour in other sectors, primary agriculture remains mostly untouched.
