Canada on Trump: Poilievre Doubles Down, Military Investigates Soldiers, University Profs Disappoint
Poilievre Doubles Down in the Face of Criticism
Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre is standing firm on his statement condemning the assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump, and expressing relief that the shooter is dead.
Poilievre condemned the attack and expressed his relief for Trump's safety, adding, "I am also happy that the suspected shooter is dead. Democracy must prevail." Prominent progressives criticized Poilievre’s statement, arguing that it was inappropriate for a potential prime minister.
In a follow-up interview, Poilievre stated, “He killed another human being. I don’t care what you think about former President Trump. The reality is he’s a human being and so was the other innocent victim who died here heroically protecting his loved ones.”
He remained unapologetic, stating, "That's life and frankly, I don't care." More

The Canadian Armed Forces are investigating two members, Petty Officer Jeff Pike and Sgt. Keith Martin, for social media posts lamenting the failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

Danielle Smith Urges the Left to ‘Dial Down’ the Rhetoric After Trump Assassination Attempt
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith has called on far-left politicians to moderate their rhetoric following the assassination attempt on Donald Trump. Speaking at the annual Council of the Federation in Halifax, Smith linked inflammatory language, such as calling Trump a “dictator” or “Hitler,” to heightened risks of violence. She highlighted similar rhetoric used against Canadian conservatives, including Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre and herself.
Tiny Thought: Given the divisive rhetoric that led us to this point, some of these comments, while unsurprising, are quite troubling. The Liberal propaganda has been so effective that ordinary citizens are wishing death upon a political opponent in what should be a civilized democracy. This is insane.
Conservatives Call for an Emergency Meeting as Attacks on Chinese Canadians by the CCP Skyrocket
A group of Conservative MPs is calling for an emergency parliamentary meeting due to a significant increase in harassment and violence against the Chinese community in Montreal by the Chinese Communist Party.
CSIS documents reveal that Canada is a high-priority target for interference and intimidation by the People’s Republic of China (PRC), with Chinese agents showing little concern for repercussions. The RCMP has reported six credible cases of harassment, with the victims expressing fear for their lives and their families.
In response, the Quebec RCMP recently launched a social media campaign to solicit tips from the public regarding criminal activities related to Chinese interference. This follows their March 2023 announcement of an investigation into illegal Chinese police stations in Quebec. These alleged police stations, operating under the guise of community service organizations, have denied the allegations and filed a defamation lawsuit against the RCMP.
Despite these efforts, no arrests have been made in Canada, contrasting with US authorities, who have detained individuals involved in similar operations. More
Elon Musk Considers Building an Iron Man Suit After Assassination Attempts
Elon Musk is increasing his security measures after an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump during a campaign rally. Musk revealed that two assassination attempts had already been made on him in the past eight months, both involving armed individuals who were arrested. Musk noted that these are "dangerous times."
Following the incident, Musk was urged by supporters to enhance his security, with some suggesting he build a metal suit of armour. As it turns out, Musk previously explored the idea of an Iron Man-like suit, meeting with an inventor in 2021 who created a prototype. However, it is unclear if the project advanced further. Musk has been noted as an inspiration for Marvel Studios' Iron Man character, and he even had a cameo in the series' second installment.
Since the shooting, Musk has publicly endorsed Trump, comparing him to former President Theodore Roosevelt and criticizing the Secret Service's handling of the incident. He has also expressed dissatisfaction with mainstream media coverage and called for changes at the Wall Street Journal.
Additionally, sources revealed that Musk donated to America PAC, a super political action committee supporting Trump's election, with details of the contribution expected soon. More

The decision came after Trump publicly endorsed Kennedy receiving security, citing his family's history and current security concerns. Cave Discovered on Moon Could be Home for Future Humans
Scientists have discovered a 100-meter-deep cave on the Moon, potentially suitable for a human base. Located near where Apollo 11 landed, the cave was formed by ancient lunar lava flows. Researchers from the University of Trento used radar to map the cave, which has vertical walls and a sloping floor. This finding suggests that lunar caves, like those on Earth, could protect astronauts from radiation and extreme temperatures. The discovery also raises hopes for exploring similar caves on Mars to uncover potential signs of past life. More
20 Satellites Fall from Sky After Catastrophic SpaceX Rocket Failure
Twenty Starlink satellites were lost after a failed SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launch on July 11. The second stage of the rocket, which carried the satellites, experienced a liquid oxygen leak, preventing it from reaching its intended orbit. As a result, the satellites were released into a low orbit and quickly re-entered Earth's atmosphere, burning up. This was the first Falcon 9 launch failure since 2016. SpaceX is investigating the incident, and all Falcon 9 rockets will remain grounded until the investigation is complete, potentially causing significant delays in the company’s launch schedule.
